PRESS RELEASE
October 22, 2019
CLEARCREEK TOWNSHIP, OH: The Clearcreek Township Police are continuing the investigation of the alleged kidnapping that occurred on Lytle Five Points Road that precipitated the theft of our ambulance.
We are now able to release the following:
This event is believed to have begun sometime on October 16, 2019 when a former girlfriend of Patrick Coleman called him to report that she was being assaulted and abused at the home at 331 East Lytle Five Points Rd. Coleman went there with the intent of helping the female. However, when he arrived, he was forced into the house where he was kept against his will until his escape on Saturday, Oct. 19th.
Also, when officers spoke with Coleman at Dayton Children’s Hospital, they found that his injuries consisted of cuts, burns, restraint burns, and bruising which corroborated his story and gave probable cause for the search warrant.
We can confirm that there were at least five other individuals (beside Christopher Edwards) who may have been in the home during this event that are considered suspects. The investigation continues to focus on these individuals to attempt to ascertain what their involvement was and what charges, if any, are to be filed.
In light of the ongoing nature of this matter, material updates will be made available when and if appropriate.
Questions should be directed to Sgt. Wallace Stacy at 937-748-1267.
