As part of our leadership team, the EMS Supervisor will help shape the future of EMS operations, support personnel development, and ensure the delivery of exceptional prehospital care.
Position Overview
The EMS Supervisor reports directly to the Shift Commander and serves as an on-shift (24/48) hands‑on leader, responsible for the daily supervision of EMS operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising ALS/BLS emergency medical care
- Ensuring protocol compliance and conducting QA/QI reviews
- Coordinating EMS training and professional development
- Maintaining EMS equipment, supplies, and readiness
- Supporting community risk reduction initiatives
- Providing leadership at emergency scenes and during daily operations
- Mentoring, coaching, and evaluating personnel
This role requires a leader who can balance operational demands, administrative responsibilities, and personnel support while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, applicants must possess:
- Valid Ohio driver’s license with a good driving record
- Five (5) years of experience as a Career Firefighter/Paramedic
- Ohio Firefighter II and Ohio Paramedic certifications
- Ohio Fire and Emergency Services Instructor
- NIMS 100, 200, 300, 700, 800
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following credentials will receive additional consideration:
- Instructor certifications: BLS (CPR), ACLS, PALS, PEPP, ITLS
- Blue Card Incident Commander certification
- Incident Safety Officer certification
- Associate degree in Fire/EMS or a related field
- NIMS 400, Fire Officer II, OFE, or CPSE Fire Officer credential
Probationary Period Certification Requirements
If selected, the candidate must complete all certification requirements outlined in the EMS Supervisor job description during the probationary period, including:
- Ohio EMS, ACLS, PALS, ITLS, and CPR Instructor certifications
- Blue Card Certification
- Incident Safety Officer and Health Safety Officer certifications
- Fire Officer I
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting Salary: $103,673.75
- Post‑probation Salary: $108,598.18
- Every six-week Kelly Day
- Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance
- Additional transferable benefits based on experience
Selection Process

- Polygraph examination

Career Firefighter
The Clearcreek Fire District is a progressive and growing fire protection district between Dayton and Cincinnati in Southwest Ohio. The District is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the Career Firefighter/EMT or Career Firefighter/Paramedic position.
Firefighter Qualification Criteria
Firefighter Disqualification Criteria
The process will include a physical agility test (Firefighter Mile or CPAT), virtual/in-person interview(s), panel interview(s), final interview, psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, and an extensive personal history evaluation and medical examination, which includes drug testing. Candidates will be advised of their status throughout the process. All scheduled dates and times are subject to change as the process progresses.

- Lateral Paramedics starting salary range is $82,410 - 88,280 depending on experience level, plus other transferable benefits.
- Preference is given as department needs dictate for specific subject matter specialists (EMS specialist, Rescue Technician, Hazmat specialist, Prevention).
ENTRY-LEVEL (not currently full-time) candidates MUST apply online with the National Testing Network at www.nationaltestingnetwork.com. Results from a current (within one year) and valid Firefighter Mile or CPAT for all entry-level candidates must be submitted with the application.
- The entry-level annual salary for EMTs is $70,083, and for Paramedics is $78,497, plus excellent benefits.
