Career Firefighter

The Clearcreek Fire District is a progressive and growing fire protection district in Southwest Ohio located between Dayton and Cincinnati. The District is accepting applications to hire for the position of Career Firefighter/EMT or Career Firefighter/Paramedic.

All applicants are subject to a selection process. For final consideration, applicants must have the following:

    • Valid Ohio Driver's License
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Ohio Level II Firefighter
    • Valid Ohio EMT or Paramedic Certification

The process will include a physical agility (Firefighter Mile or CPAT), virtual interview(s), panel interview(s), final interview, psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, and an extensive personal history evaluation and medical examination which includes drug testing. Candidates will be advised of their status throughout the process.  All scheduled dates and times are subject to change as the process progresses.

The deadline to apply for all candidates is 4:00 pm on August 30, 2024. 

Results from a current (within 1 year) and valid Firefighter Mile or CPAT for all candidates must be received by 1:00 p.m. on September 15, 2024.

  • Lateral Paramedics have the potential to make up to $88,718, plus other transferable benefits, depending on their level of experience.
  • Preference is given as department needs dictate for specific subject matter specialists (EMS specialist, Rescue Technician, Hazmat specialist, Prevention)

  • Entry-level annual salary is $68,042.07 for EMTs or $76,210.92 for Paramedics, plus excellent benefits.
