Clearcreek Township Police Conclude ‘Click It or Ticket’ Blitz Clearcreek Township, OH. – Clearcreek Township had extra traffic patrols out during the national “Click it or Ticket” campaign May 19th through June 1st. The extra patrols were a part of the Police Division’s effort to make Township roads safer for residents and visitors. Funding for the extra patrols is coming from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office as part of Clearcreek Township’s participation in their High Visibility Enforcement Overtime (HVEO) Grant. During the “Click it or Ticket” campaign Clearcreek officers wrote 40 citations, mostly for speeding and seat belt violations. More than half of those, 25 were the result of the HVEO patrols. Prior to the blitz period, HVEO patrols wrote 8 additional citations in May. “Having wrapped up ‘Click it or Ticket’ we wanted to keep up the extra efforts into the summer, so we applied for additional HVEO hours for the summer months.” said Sgt. Wally Stacy, Clearcreek Township’s HVEO grant coordinator. “We will continue to have extra traffic patrols throughout June, July and August.” The goal of the HVEO grant program is to make Ohio’s roadways safer by increasing enforcement of Ohio’s traffic laws. Questions about the High Visibility Enforcement Overtime grant or Clearcreek Township’s Traffic Safety goals can be directed to Sgt. Wally Stacy at 937-748-1267.
