Press Release September 12, 2014

Clearcreek Township Police Wrap Up Participation in National Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign Clearcreek Township, OH.

Clearcreek Township had extra traffic patrols out during the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign August 15th through September 1st. The effective nationwide drunk driving crackdown included high-visibility enforcement, high-profile events, and was supported by national advertising, creating a comprehensive campaign to curb drunk driving through the Labor Day holiday weekend. In Clearcreek Township the funding for the extra patrols came from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office as part of Clearcreek Township’s participation in their High Visibility Enforcement Overtime (HVEO) Grant. During the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign Clearcreek officers wrote 25 citations. More than half of those, 13 were the results of the HVEO patrols. The goal of the HVEO grant program is to make Ohio’s roadways safer by increasing enforcement of Ohio’s traffic laws. Clearcreek Township will have more HVEO patrols out in September, as they continue their efforts to make the township roads safer during this “back to school” month. Questions about the High Visibility Enforcement Overtime grant or Clearcreek Township’s Traffic Safety goals can be directed to Sgt. Larry Cornett at 937-748-1267.
