National Weather Service Heat Advisory
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington has issued an advisory regarding excessive heat on Thursday (7/24/2025) and thunderstorms Friday-Saturday (7/25/2025-7/26/2025).
Heat index values are expected to exceed 100°F on Thursday afternoon/evening, with hot and humid conditions continuing into the weekend.
- Showers and thunderstorms are expected on Friday and Saturday, particularly in the afternoon.
- Isolated flooding is possible on Friday and Saturday.
Some things to consider:
- Be sure to hydrate properly and take breaks during peak heat times if working outdoors.
- Protect your skin with proper clothing and sunscreen, and protect your eyes by wearing sunglasses.
- Seek shelter in a place with air conditioning and medical assistance immediately if any signs of heat illness are present.
