Press Release May 22, 2014

On 5/22/2014 the Clearcreek Township Police Department arrested Michal A. Bean and charged her with one count of felony theft for stealing almost $60,000 from a local Clearcreek Township Business. Mrs. Bean worked as an account/bookkeeper for Dad’s Gun Shop. In her capacity with Dad’s Gun Shop she had access to the business’s checking account and records. Mrs. Bean also runs a Liberty Tax franchise in Wilmington, Ohio. Bean was arrested at that location last night by officers of the Clearcreek Township and Wilmington Police Departments in cooperation with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. Officers seized from her a vehicle and concession trailer believed to have been purchased with some of the stolen money from Dad’s Gun Shop. Mrs. Bean operated her Liberty Tax Franchise and took secondary jobs at many businesses such as Dad’s to do accounting for them. The Clearcreek Township Police Department cautions anyone who might have used her accounting services that they should check over their books for anything suspicious. Should they find something suspicious in regards to their interactions with her and her accounting services they are advised to call their local police department. As of last night Mrs. Bean was being held on a $50,000 bond. The Clearcreek Township Police and Forensic Accountants from Ohio BCI&I have been preparing the case against Michal Bean over the past 4 months. John D. Terrill, Chief of Police
