Officer Manager - Clearcreek Fire District

Clearcreek Fire District is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to serve as Office Manager, a key administrative role supporting the operations of our department. Reporting directly to the Fire Chief, this position is responsible for managing payroll, scheduling, and accounts payable, while also providing essential support to command staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll and manage employee scheduling
  • Oversee accounts payable and vendor communications
  • Prepare agendas, reports, employee manuals, and budget documents
  • Support command staff with administrative tasks and documentation
  • Serve as a public-facing representative of the Fire District, addressing citizen inquiries and complaints
  • Maintain efficient office workflow and ensure high productivity

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain Notary Public commission in Ohio
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and the public

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a related field
  • Extensive experience as an Administrative Clerk or Secretary
  • Background in emergency services or public sector operations

Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-time, hourly, non-exempt position; salary range is $55,000.00—$65,000 and will be based on experience and qualifications

Part-Time Code Enforcement Officer

Clearcreek Township is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a part-time Code Enforcement Officer. In this role, you will report to the Director of Planning and Zoning and be responsible for enforcing the Township Zoning Resolution through both routine and complex field inspections. Key areas of focus include zoning, property maintenance, abandoned vehicles, and nuisance issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responds to and investigates citizen complaints and suspected zoning, land use and nuisance code violations.
  • Enforces the Zoning Resolution and other Township codes by performing field inspections, explaining code requirements to  property owners and others, and issuing warnings or correction notices to secure compliance.
  • Drafts and distributes correspondence, reports, and notices and maintains logs and records of all inspection and enforcement activities.
  • Offers information and assistance to the public on code enforcement matters and stays current on new
  • regulations and assists in developing departmental procedures and recommending code amendments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license; with no serious violations in the last five (5) years.
  • Two years of experience related to inspection, law enforcement, building inspection, land use, public administration, or a related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Some knowledge of code enforcement principles, practices, and methods as applicable to a Township setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a related field
  • Working knowledge of inspection techniques and skill in operating relevant tools and equipment
  • Background in emergency services or public sector operations

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • This position requires significant outdoor fieldwork, including navigating rough terrain and adverse weather conditions, with occasional physical labor such as lifting up to 50 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range is $22.00 - $26.00 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications
  • OPERS retirement plan

Career Firefighter

The Clearcreek Fire District is a progressive and growing fire protection district between Dayton and Cincinnati in Southwest Ohio. The District is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the Career Firefighter/EMT or Career Firefighter/Paramedic position.

The process will include a physical agility test (Firefighter Mile or CPAT), virtual/in-person interview(s), panel interview(s), final interview, psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, and an extensive personal history evaluation and medical examination, which includes drug testing. Candidates will be advised of their status throughout the process.  All scheduled dates and times are subject to change as the process progresses.

  • Lateral Paramedics can make up to $85,709.58, plus other transferable benefits, depending on their experience level.

  • The entry-level annual salary is $68,042.07 for EMTs and $76,210.92 for Paramedics, plus excellent benefits.
